NANS convention turns bloody as cultists invade venue (video)

The national association of Nigerians students (NANS) convention that took place on Thursday, December 4, in Abuja was busted with violence as gunmen believed to be cult groups invaded the premise.
According to reports, the convention was held at the Old Parade ground, Area 10, Garki, Abuja in respect of the election of new executive members who are to coordinate the affairs of the association after the expiration of the tenure of the former executive members.
Trouble reportedly started when one of the zonal coordinators of the NANS from a different faction, stormed the convention venue with armed men to stop the accreditation process. The suspected armed cultists engaged the men of the Department of State Security (DSS) in a gun battle, and some of the DSS had to take to their heels and retreated as they were outnumbered. Over 20 unidentified individuals were said to have been injured, and one said reported to be in a critical condition taken to a nearby hospital
