UNILORIN UPDATE ON RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES SENATE

Compliments of the Season to the better by far students of the prestigious University of Ilorin. After what seemed like an unending break, it is our pleasure to bring good news and developments to your attention.
Acting per the directions of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 and the NUC that all physical academic activities on all campuses be stopped, the school management is making plans to adjust to the new virtual learning system, as is being used in other reputable international institutions. This development has led to the proposal for the commencement of virtual learning and online classes, as is already being circulated across campus media groups.
Sitting on the proposals today, the School authority has approved January 11th, 2021, for the commencement of a Virtual Rain Semester pending the the time the Health authorities in the country declares campuses accessible for all, and the updated academic calendar for the current session shall be uploaded on the University Portal soon.
The modalities for the new virtual system, as well as other vital information will be communicated with the student populace as soon as they are published.
The student union indeed appreciate the steps taken by University management to ensure that students can progress in their education and career path, and as always, we’ll continue to interact with the school management to ensure that every decision is in the best interest of our members.
We look forward to a smooth transition into the virtual learning era as with other reputable institutions globally.
