Report has it that the University of Ibadan (UI) has canceled their 2019/2020 academic session. Base on the report; this was part of resolutions reached at the meeting of the university’s Senate that was held on Thursday, 14th 2021.
One of the senate member who spoke to newsmen after their meeting said that the institution will resume on Monday, January 18 as ordered by FG for the conclusion of the 2018/2019 academic session.
The conclusion of the aborted 2018/2019 session will be by February after which a 3-week break will be given and resumption for 2020/2021 session will follow suit.
It was also resolved that the institution will not admit candidates for the 2021/ 2022 academic session. The institution will communicate JAMB not to list them in for the JAMB brochure for the 2021/2022 academic session as candidates who applied to the university for the 2020/2021 academic session would be taken in the 2021/2022 session. However, all this decisions and actions, exempts postgraduate students, aspirants of Distance learning programmes and direct entry students from affiliated institutions.
There’s resolution to set up of committees to prepare and look at the modalities for conducting the online classes, in some departments as it was equally looked at in the meeting.
